Over the course of the past 8 years, my role as the E-Commerce Manager and designer at Boat Hoist USA has been marked by dynamic growth and a series of strategic enhancements to our online presence. Throughout this tenure, we undertook three comprehensive revamps of our website. For the latest iteration, I leveraged my knowledge acquired during college, adopting a more hands-on approach to both the design and development aspects of the site.

The initial two versions were crafted based on my vision but heavily relied on the expertise of third-party developers. With the third iteration, I took the reins, combining my professional experience with academic insights to shape a website that reflects not only the brand's identity but also a seamless and user-friendly interface.

During my tenure at BH-USA, I played a pivotal role in cultivating a website housing an extensive catalog comprising over 10,000 products. In addition to steering the design, I actively contributed to critical aspects such as search engine optimization, analytics, Google Ads, and graphic design initiatives, strategically amplifying our industry exposure. Notably, our website boasts over 100 pages consistently ranking at the top of search engine results, a testament to our effective optimization strategies.

What sets our website apart is its unique blend of business-to-customer and business-to-business elements, tailored to meet the diverse needs of our clientele. This customized approach has been instrumental in achieving significant milestones. I meticulously designed secondary pages, incorporating elements such as brand showcases, guides, forms, and categorized content, ensuring a well-rounded and informative browsing experience.

The intricacies of the website extend to its coding, guaranteeing a seamless process for customers to effortlessly return items and place orders of any size through various gateways. In consideration of our customer demographic, which tends to lean towards the older side, I designed the front page and other pages to prioritize modern accessibility. This includes easy-to-read menus and a straightforward delivery of information, embodying a no-nonsense approach to cater to our diverse customer base. The culmination of these efforts is a website that not only reflects the technological evolution in e-commerce but also serves as a testament to our commitment to customer satisfaction and industry leadership.
